Prayer Request

Dear FB friends,
I just received this from a dear friend. Please help me pray.
We are asking if you would be willing to pray diligently for Travis and Myklin and the Vinson family. Travis has had numerous health problems this summer...kidney stones, an infection in his small intestine, recurrent staph infections - one that landed him in the hospital for nearly a week, and then two days later he was re-hospitalized for multiple blood clots in his arms caused by the antibiotics he was given through his IVs. One clot is especially large and concerning because it is in a deep vein in his upper arm, caused by the PICC line they had to put in while he was in the hospital.

He is supposed to be on blood thinners for at least 5 more months to ensure the blood clots are resolved. However, the medicine is very hard on his body, making him exhausted, weak and sick to his stomach/nauseous daily. They are really not sure how he can continue to be another 5 months on this medicine. On top of all of these things, Travis recently has developed horrible migraine-like headaches that are increasing in severity and frequency. He barely gets over one, when another one starts.

Yesterday he saw his neurologist, who sent him to the hospital where he was admitted. A series of tests are being run to see if there are any underlining causes...aneurysm being one of the things being looked for. Travis and Myklin are both convinced that all the medications they have him on are a huge part of the problem, and a possible cause of the migraines. Migraines and blood clots are a nasty, potentially life threatening combination. The doctors themselves seem to be stumped, and don't know why this is happening, or what else to do, other than more medications and procedures.

Travis is ready to pursue other options....some of his problems could be dealt with in more natural ways. He seems to be in a vicious cycle, where he must have a strong, potentially dangerous medication to save his life, yet that med seems to cause even more problems. Travis has also used up all his sick days and short term disability at work. At this point the company could fire him if they choose. Myklin will be contacting his main medical doctor today to see if he will authorize another term of it.

Myklin is used up...but all is well with her pregnancy. She is 36 weeks along. Travis' family is also used up and stressed. Specifically, his parents, David and Donna. Often times when we are too weak to stand, God sends those who are strong and able to stand in the gap for us. I believe this is such a time. This sweet, precious family needs your diligent prayers. We believe in our hearts that this is a sickness unto the glory of God. It is our prayer that it is God's time to allow a turning point. Above all, God must be glorified, regardless%2
