I was going to suggest the same thing Zinnia did. Your local senior/elderly service agency may be able to help your parents. Please call them on Monday, along with your local assistance office as Zinnia suggested, to see if you qualify to get help for other members of your family.

Find the Social Services Department in your area. If you don't know how to do that, search online for your closest social services and get there. Write down ahead of time all the help you need, like a checklist and bring any income paperwork with you to prove your need and your family's need. They will help you.
